Partner overview, October 2026
Waystone, for preparedness retailers and distributors.
An offline preparedness assistant for laptops: a local AI model and a curated reference library, set up once and usable without a connection. It's in development. This overview explains the concept, the planned offer, where things stand, and what we'd like to learn from you.
The concept
Waystone puts a local AI model and a carefully chosen survival library on the customer's own laptop. Ask a practical question in plain words, get a plan in order, and open the page each step came from.
- It's set up once, while online. After that, it's designed to work without any connection.
- The assistant, the library and the search all live on the customer's own computer.
- Every answer points to the page it came from. Seeing the source lets you check an answer; it doesn't make it right.
- The documents can be read without the AI, and the main checklists can be printed in advance.
Why it could fit a preparedness range
People who buy kits, radios, lights and power stations are preparing for the moments Waystone is designed for. Waystone covers the knowledge part: what to do, in what order, with the source one step away. And because a laptop needs charging, it sits naturally next to power banks and portable power.
Formats we'd like to explore with partners. Nothing is fixed; these are options to discuss:
The planned offer
- Consumer price
- $100, one-time, planned. For the software and library.
- Subscription
- None planned.
- Delivery
- Planned as a download, installed once while online.
- On sale
- No. No pre-orders, deposits or payments are taken.
- Partner terms
- Open for discussion. Nothing is fixed.
Where it stands
Exists today
- The concept and its design
- A concept film
- This website and overview
Not yet
- A released product
- Tested computer requirements
- The final library and its licenses
- Update, support and partner terms
Planned next: a prototype on one Mac configuration (Apple silicon, 16 GB of memory), tested with realistic household questions, including questions the library can't answer. Waystone is a working name.
What we'll always say plainly
- It still needs power. Offline means without internet; the laptop still needs charging.
- It has no live information: no alerts, weather, road closures or news while offline. A battery radio is still needed.
- Language models make mistakes, which is why every answer is designed to point to its source.
- It goes alongside supplies, printed plans, a radio, official warnings and professional help. It doesn't replace them.
What we'd like from you
We're looking for a conversation. Would you review a tested version, or try a small pilot? Tell us what your customers ask about, which formats work in your channel, and which countries and languages matter to you. Nothing to buy and nothing to commit to.
